As our organization continues to grow (as of this edit we’re up to 200 contributors!), we hope this becomes a busy place with updates on funding, new hires, volunteer accomplishments, and more!

The pyOpenSci Packages category is for discussions about existing pyOpenSci packages, ideas for new ones, and everything in between! If you’d like to chat about more general Python questions, or non-pyOpenSci packages, check out our Questions about Python packaging and code category!

The pyOpenSci Community Chat is a great place for us to have more casual conversations about the pyOpenSci community and our interests, whether that’s a new package you’ve discovered, a big “win” you’ve experienced, or even pet photos!

Have questions about coding best practices or would like some help preparing a package for review? This is the place to ask!

One of the core pillars of pyOpenSci is training and education, and it seems we’ve always got a guidebook or tutorial underway. In this category we’ll share our work, but we’d also love your feedback on any of our guidebooks or tutorials. And if there’s something you’d like to see, this is a fantastic place to let us know!

The pyOpenSci Review Process Questions category is place for discussion and questions about pyOpenSci’s software peer review process. This can include questions about how to submit a package, requests for advice on how to review a package, or suggestions for improving the review process as a whole can all go here.
