Hi @lwasser could we talk a little bit at this meeting about data retrieval + deposition packages?

I learned a little more about Zenodo, Dryad and Figshare at the URSSI Winter School and what Python packages would need to interact with them.

It looks like there’s already one package for Zenodo that’s well put together:

My understanding is Dryad may adopt the same API and focus on data while Zenodo would focus on code. If so then that package would work for Dryad as well.

Maybe we could reach out to the maintainer and ask them if they’re interested in making it part of PyOpenSci?

Sure Dave – can you add it to the hack md file under agenda? Also if you cant edit that document please let me know. i tried to create a group and some people have had issues editing the files if i dont have the permissions correct.

Ah okay – yeah I wasn’t able to edit it, I thought maybe you had it set to private or something.

Not sure what info you need from me for permissions. I’m logging into hackmd with github, my username is NickleDave
